Pen name         :    First ‘Asad’ Then ‘Ghalib’, Started writing in 1807.

Marriage         :    9th Aug. 1810 with Umrao Begum, daughter of Nawab Ilahi Baksh at Delhi.

Residence        :     Delhi, Permanently Shifted to Delhi in 1812

Journeys          :    Went Calcutta via Lucknow, Banda, Allahabad, Banaras, Murshidabad

                              on 21February, 1826.Went Rampur in 1860.

Publications     :    Ist edition of ‘Diwan-e-Ghalib’ published by Syedul Akbar, Delhi in 1841.

                              Persian Diwan ‘Maikhana-e-Arzoo” published by Maktaba Darus Salam,

                              Delhi in 1845. IInd edition of Urdu ‘Diwan-e-Ghalib’ published in 1847

Book                :   “Panj Aahang" (Persian) published in 1849.

Awards             :    Conferred titled ‘Najmuddaula Dabirul Mulk Nizam Jung’ by Bahadur Shah

                              Zafar in 1850. Commissioned to write history of Taimur dynasty. Appointed

                              Ustad (Teacher of poetry) on 15  November, 1854 after the death of Shaikh

                              Mohammed Ibrahim  Zauq, Nawab Yousuf Ali Khan Nazim appointed his

                              Ustad on 5th February,1857.

Bad Days         :    Stoppage of pension from Bahadur Shah Zafar and British on 10th May

                               1857. Death of younger brother Yousuf Ali in October, 1857.

Death               :    Died on 15th February, 1869 in Delhi. His grave is situated at graveyard of

                              Loharo family at Basti Hazrat Nizamuddin, New Delhi. Adjacent of Mazar-

                              e-Ghalib, late Hakeem Abdul Hameed established Ghalib Academy in the 

                              memory of Mirza Ghalib in1969 at the time of death centenary of Mirza
